Proud to be a small but vibrant community, Bristol hides a surprising amount of industrial development behind the facade of a sleepy little town.

Poised for Growth: Today, nearly 200 years after European settlers came to the area, Bristol views the future with the same pioneering spirit. The development of surrounding farmland into industrial complexes has brought increased vitality and employment opportunities. Lured by an attractive tax base, strong labor market, availability of reasonably priced property and access to municipal water and sewer, many manufacturers have located in Bristol. A proposed alternate truck bypass and a new rail park will encourage additional industrial development and continue to grow the local economy.

Area residents are drawn to the historical landmarks like the Bristol Opera House,    Rush Memorial Center and to annual festivals like the Bristol Homecoming, the Flintlock & Tomahawk, and Bonneyville Mill Days. The Bristol Fruit Hills race draws participants from several surrounding states, while the two rivers, the St. Joseph and the Little Elkhart draw scores of participants in water activities like kayaking and canoeing.

From long timers to newcomers, citizens agree that life in a small town "feels like home." Events like the 2008 Town House Walk give a strong sense of community and raised funds for repairs of the Opera House. Bristol is committed to maintaining that small town atmosphere, but taking advantage of the opportunities of today; striving for Tomorrow's Growth with Yesterday's Values.
